Our Story

Cancer Copay Relief Image 02
When Brenda and I moved as newlyweds to Marietta Georgia to attend Life University we had no qualms about how difficult what we were setting out to accomplish could be. But the battle that we ended up fighting turned out to be much more than we ever could have anticipated.

As we settled into our home, work, and college classes, life seemed to take on a new almost charmed rhythm. Our lives were filled with blessings and excitement. However, in July of 2009 we faced new challenges neither of us could have anticipated.  After a regular physical checkup and subsequent visits to a cancer specialist, I was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. We were immediately caught up in a whirlwind of hospital visits, tests, surgeries and doctor visits familiar to all who have walked this road.

During the last few months as I have struggled to cope with my diagnosis; I have become aware of the overwhelming number of people who also struggle with cancer the same way I do. It has been truly humbling to be introduced as a resident into the world of human tragedy that is the epidemic of cancer. However, because of my situation I have been able to see that there is a need to be met that we as a society need to pull together and fix. I am excited to be part of a charity that I know will help others better cope with a situation too common among cancer patients; unnecessary, debilitating, demoralizing, financial stress while undergoing treatments for cancer.

Cancer Copay Relief Inc is a Non Profit Corporation organized to help those who may not be able to, or who may be having difficulty in, paying their co-pays while undergoing treatments for cancer. There are millions who have been touched directly or indirectly by this debilitating and deadly disease. In fact if you have not been directly affected by cancer you know someone who has. I am convinced that there are those who are willing and able to help monetarily to ease the burdens of their family, friends & neighbors in our community. It is my hope that this Non Profit foundation will help bridge the gap between those who want to help and those who truly need it.

Every month as my wife and I struggle to cope with my treatment, I am reminded how blessed we are that at least we have employment, health insurance and help from family to survive financially. As I look around the room where I receive the chemotherapy treatments, I see people from all walks of life in various stages of their own treatment. Most are not as blessed as I am. I look at them as I would look at a brother or sister and hope that we will be able to ease their burdens even if just a little. Please, if you feel moved to help, follow the link and start your own legacy of kindness. Whether small or large your donation will go directly to helping those in need and easing the burden until a cure can be found.

With hopeful Heart, and enthusiasm for the good we will do together.
